Cassandra Poe Montgomery, a.k.a Reign in the poetry community, is a native of Detroit, MI, but currently lives in Jacksonville, FL. She's a writer above all else, but she's been known to be a Spoken Word Artist at times.

She is a mother of two young women who are the center and essence of her life.  She dedicates her spare time to the youth in the community she lives in.  She has been a contributing writer for online magazines and forums.  Reign has been the featured poet at Fuel Cafe in Jacksonville, FL and performed at various venues throughout Southeast Georgia (Club Oz, Sentinal Bean Cafe, Bey Productions Poetry, Respectful For Life Bookstore) and Northeast Florida (Soul Release for Nokturnal, Escape Entertainment, LLC., Ritz Theater/Lavilla Museum, Florida Theater for Jacksonville's monthly Art Walk poetry showcase and Henrietta’s).  She has also performed in her hometown of Detroit at the Key Club and Beans & Bytes.

She released her first Spoken Word CD titled Inside The Reign in March 2006 after loosing a major presence and force in her life...her father, Gerald Poe, in which the CD is dedicated to. She didn't want to leave this earth without doing what she promised him she would do...stop being afraid long enough......

She released her second CD titled Eternal Reign in April 2007, where her two daughters and one of her favorite poets, Ms. Tonya Smart appear as special guest.

She has this to say about poetry, life and herself:

I’ve traveled to quench my thirst for poetry, but I’m still thirsty. Because poetry has been embedded in our history and enriched our lives so much, I don’t think Ill ever get enough of it.  Your mind shouldn’t be a prison, but some people allow it to be.  I use mine to form words into poetry to heal me, make me laugh and give me wings; hopefully, I’ve done that for someone else who has heard my words along the way.  God gave us each the gifts He gave us for a reason, so I’m determined to use the one I've been blessed with.
